What the deuce? Where the hell did they come up with this list?

Obviously while they were eating bologna sandwiches, smoking opium and snorting cocaine at a burlesque mortuary.

But how did Timothy get dragged into this list?

Luke read the comments and said, "Didn't I ever tell you my graphic novel idea for a BDSM dentist?"

ONLY. MY. CHILD.

I asked my favorite linguist, Bill Wyman, what a "gewgaw" was, and he said it's the same thing as a "Thingamajig." That's helpful!

It's better than learning about it on the streets!

Andrea Miklasz said...

A gewgaw could also be a whoseewhatsits.

A " Thingamajig " ? I use that word all the time . I think I should meet your friend Bill.
We have the latin thing in common already. Did you notice by the way ,not a lot of the words on the spelling bee list are latin based words?

No, Kate, they're rooted in NONSENSE!

You would love Bill. He's hysterical and smart and sassy and adorable. He wants to come to town and have a big party. Until then, you'll just have to watch him on Al Jezeera USA.

I still can't explain why Timothy is in the list. Burlesque!

When you say your pick , do you mean there are more ?

Andrea Miklasz said...

There are more, but they're baby words Luke knew how to spell in 3rd grade. These were the most risque and odd, for a Lutheran school, on his list. .
...with the exception of Timothy....
